Sport & Performance Psychology

Everyone remembers a time when you performed at your best. We help you to reproduce your best performances on a consistent basis. As you practice the mental skills that we teach you, you increase the chance of consistently performing at your best.

We service all areas of Australia via online video conferencing (we also have a Perth office).

What is Sports Psychology?

The sport psychologists at Performance Boost use applied sports psychology to help athletes and performers to learn and practice mental skills that allow them to strive for consistently high performance in every match or game.

Sports psychology is not restricted to elite and professional athletes and teams. Recreational and amateur athletes, including many children and adolescents, benefit from visiting a sport psychologist. Shayne has also released an eBook on the Psychology of Tennis and been featured on national media for his expertise in sports psychology.

What is Performance Psychology?

Performance Psychology is highly similar to Sport Psychology but instead of a sports context, mental skills are applied to environments other than sports. The aim of Performance Psychology is to maximise the best results and also enhance the consistency of individuals during performances.

We help you to reproduce your best on a consistent basis when you are performing, in auditions, or in exams and other important assessments. As you practice the mental skills that we teach you, you increase the chance of consistently performing at your best.

Performance Psychology is used by a wide variety of individuals in many different areas. They include:

  • dancers,
  • musicians,
  • singers,
  • students,
  • medical specialists (registrars),
  • pilots,
  • and many other professions.

Performance psychology is not restricted to elite or professional performers. We work together with recreational and amateur performing artists, including many children and adolescents.
